Jeanne Mackin is a novelist. She is the author of such books as Dreams of Empire and The Frenchwoman. In addition, her articles have appeared in Country Living, the New York Times, Family Circle, and other publications. Mackin was the recipient of an Excellence in Teaching Award from Ithaca College in 1996, as well as numerous scholarly grants and fellowships.
