The American Antiquarian Society held its first annual Adopt-A-Book event on April 29, 2008. This event was held each spring for the next eleven years. Donors "adopted" items, sometimes in honor of a special friend, or in memory of a loved one.
Issued on the annually on the website, the Adopt-a-Book Catalog described items acquired by AAS curators offered for "adoption." All proceeds were be used by curators to acquire more items for AAS's outstanding collections.
