Hand-colored map from the 1842 edition.
This map of Asia depicts desert areas in stipple (engraved dots). It was half of a larger copper plate engraving, with Europe engraved on the other half of the plate. The map of Europe has "Lahainaluna" engraved at lower left while the map of Asia has "Na Kepohoni i kakau" engraved at lower right. Taken together, they provide the publication information that this engraving was done in Lahainaluna by Kepohoni.
