This is the first large atlas published at Lahainaluna Seminary, Lahaina, Hawaii. Adapted from Jesse Olney's A New and Improved School Atlas (Hartford, 1830), in this instance the maps were all engraved by native Hawaiian students at the Lahainaluna Seminary. The first two are dated Lahainaluna 1839; others are undated but they are variously signed: Kalama Kepohoni i kakau; Na Kapohoni i kakai; Na Kepohonii kakau; Na Kepohoni i kakau; Na N. Pikao. They represent the excellent engraving and illustration skills of students and local native Hawaiians, including:
