Ka Nupepa Kuokoa is a Hawaiian-language newspaper with the longest publication history, running from 1861 to 1927. The paper was first published in Honolulu, O'ahu, by Henry Martyn Whitney (1824-1904), the son of missionaries and an American evangelist. Whitney hired a series of Hawaiian editors, including Joseph Kawainui, S.K. Mahoe, and J.M. Poepoe, which contributed to the paper's success on the islands.
