Learning Lab

Until now, AAS has had no dedicated classroom space on-site, and educational programs have been offered in adapted spaces that have not been optimal for these purposes. This new space has been designed with programs and collections use in mind, thoughtfully creating a twentyfirst- century learning lab where constituents can actively engage in their own discovery of the American past.

The distance-learning capabilities of the room are equally transformative. The design pays special attention to acoustics and to the technology necessary to record presentations for remote, real-time access to materials and people through videoconferencing.
