Whitney Austin Beals

Whitney Beals (elected April 2010) died on September 14, 2023. Beals enjoyed a career of nearly a half-century in the field of environmental conservation. A graduate of the Yale School of Forestry, he worked with the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, the Roaring Brook Nature Center, the Nature Conservancy, and ultimately the New England Forestry Foundation, from which he retired four years ago. He served for many years on the board of Worcester’s EcoTarium, as well as other citizen committees at the town and state level.
