Fourth-generation AAS member Henry B. Dewey (elected April 1966) died on October 23, 2023. Dewey received the Bronze Star for his service during the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. For forty-two years he was senior partner at the Worcester law firm Bowditch & Dewey, and nearly every cultural organization in the city benefited from his leadership and support. He served on the AAS Council from 1972 to 1980 and on the boards of numerous other organizations in Worcester and beyond, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, WGBH, and the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown.
The Harry and Jane Dewey Lecture is an occasional talk presented in memory of Henry Bowen Dewey and in honor of his wife, Jane Kenah Dewey.
