Donald Howard Cresswell

Donald H. Cresswell (elected April 2003), an authority on historic maps and prints, died on June 19, 2025. He was owner of the Philadelphia Print Shop from 1982 until 2020 (co-owner with fellow AAS member Chris Lane from 1982 to 2014). Cresswell published widely, including The American Revolution in Drawings and Prints: A Checklist of 1765–1790 Graphics in the Library of Congress (1975), and The A to Z of Antique Prints & Maps (2002; with Lane and Carolyn R. Cades). He appeared as an appraiser on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow for nearly twenty years, and in 1993 handled the one hundred-millionth acquisition to the Library of Congress.
