Barbara Bush

Barbara Bush died on April 17, 2018. The former first lady was a strong advocate for reading, libraries, and general literacy programs during her White House years and was the founder and chairman of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy. She also promoted volunteerism in humanitarian causes such as homelessness, AIDS, and the elderly.
