Ann F. Kaplan

1946-2024

Trustee emerita of Columbia University Ann F. Kaplan (elected October 2009) died on September 14, 2024. She had a long career in finance and, in 1990, was among the first women to become a partner at Goldman Sachs. She cofounded Circle Financial Group, an investment and wealth-management group comprising twelve highnet-worth women. At Columbia, Kaplan helped found the Institute of Global Politics Women’s Initiative in the School of International and Public Affairs, and the Women’s Circle in the business school. She received the Columbia Business School’s 2002 Distinguished Alumnae Award and the Columbia Alumni Medal in 2022.
