Alan is a processing librarian working on accessioning newly acquired materials, primarily manuscripts, graphic arts, and monographs. He also works with the AAS institutional archives and participates in grant-funded projects. He has cataloged manuscript materials authored by 19th-century children for the NEH-funded project Historic Children’s Voices, 1799-1899, and visual materials that portray the lives of working women in the 19th century for the Delmas Foundation-funded project Evidence of Working Women, 1830-1900. Previously, Alan has worked at the O’Leary Library at the University of Massachusetts/Lowell, the Beatley Library at Simmons University, and as an intern in the manuscripts department at AAS. Alan holds a BA in History from the University of Massachusetts/Lowell and an MLIS with an archives concentration from Simmons University.
