About the Fellow

Nancy Vieira Couto is a poet from Ithaca, New York. Her book, The Face in the Water, published by the University of Pittsburgh Press won the Agnes Lynch Starrett Prize in 1989. Her work has appeared in The American Poetry Review, The Gettysburg Review, The Hudson Review, The Iowa Review, Milkweed Chronicle, Poetry Northwest, Prairie Schooner, and other magazines.
