The Declaration of Independence was translated into multiple languages, including German, French, and Dutch. Ignatius Kohler issued this mid-nineteenth-century version for the German-speaking population in Philadelphia. Kohler offered the same design in English. Both versions repeat the same misspelling of several signers’ names, and Thomas McKean of Delaware is listed twice.
