As the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has eased restrictions for libraries, the American Antiquarian Society has begun a phased reopening of its library reading room and has established a guest vaccination policy.

American Antiquarian Society Guest Vaccination Policy

For the safety of all visitors and staff, proof of COVID-19 vaccination* is required of all readers and invited guests.

You will be asked to provide proof of vaccination upon entering Antiquarian Hall at 185 Salisbury Street:

  • Proof of vaccination can include:
    • a physical vaccine card
    • a photocopy of the card
    • a digital record or app on your phone
    • a printed record from a vaccine provider.
  • A valid photo ID is required as well.

* You must be fully vaccinated per the CDC’s definition (which currently means all vaccine doses from the initial series.)

Face masks are optional in the reading room and reception area.

Monday: 9-5
Tuesday: 10-5
Wednesday: 9-5
Thursday: 9-5
Friday: 9-5

Please note:
The library will be closed of the following holidays:

Independence Day - Monday, July 4
Labor Day - Monday, September 5
Indigenous Peoples Day - Monday, October 10
Thanksgiving - Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25
Christmas - Friday, December 23
Winter Break: AAS is also closed between December 26 and December 30

If visiting the Goddard Daniels House at 190 Salisbury Street, please contact the staff member who invited you for information on how and when to present proof of vaccination.
