Wilson, Piratical Descents uponCuba
Wilson, Piratical Descents upon Cuba
An unbound printing of a primary source account, the narrative recounts one of the most interesting—and potentially troubling—events in the history of U.S.-Caribbean relations. Beginning with Narciso Lopez's escape from Cuba in 1849 and ending with his execution in 1851, this publication is a firsthand account of Lopez's paramiltary efforts to invade Cuba and win it for US annexation.
Title as Issued
An Authentic Narrative of the Piratical Descents upon Cuba made by Hordes from the United States, Headed by Narciso Lopez, a Native of South America; to which are added some interesting letters and declarations from the prisoners, with a list of their names &c.
Havana, Cuba, 1851
