Publication information from cover, printed paper over boards. AAS copy lacks title page and in poor condition. Douglass started the North Star newspaper.
This is a later edition of Douglass's 1845 Narrative. Others were definitely self-published in England and Ireland during Douglass's time there in 1846-7. Could the first edition of his 1845 Narrative be considered self-published? On the title page it is described as: "Published at the Anti-Slavery Office."
