2018 Creative and Performing Artists and Writers Fellowship Application
Please review the following instructions before submitting the online application below.
A complete application must include a statement, a work sample(s), resume, and two letters of reference.
Statement
You should attach a statement of not more than 1,500 words briefly summarizing your educational and professional background and goals, describing the research you have done so far on the project, including readings in primary and secondary sources. You must also indicate how you plan to use the AAS library collections during your residency.
Work Samples
Your application needs to include a sample(s) of your work. This sample(s) may include:
- A link to a website containing samples of your work.
- A writing sample attached below as a PDF or a MS Word document. This attachment may not exceed 25 pages or 5,500 words.
- A DVD, book, manuscript, portfolio, etc. If you prefer, you may send such samples directly to AAS by post. Please send three copies.

Resume
Applicants should attach a current resume.
Two Letters of Reference
Two letters of reference from individuals familiar with your career accomplishments and goals should be sent directly to AAS by email to Cheryl McRell at cmcrell@mwa.org
Each letter must include a signature.
Length of Fellowship
All fellowships awarded are four weeks in duration.
Deadline
All application materials, including the two letters of recommendation, must be received by October 5, 2017.
