Native American History Resources

The collection of photographs of Native Americans contains 223 photographs housed in two boxes. It includes the work of notable photographers including William Henry Jackson (1843-1942), Jack Hillers (1843-1925), and Eadweard Muybridge (1830-1904).

The collection was processed by Cynthia Rufo in November/December, 2006. She also compiled this inventory in 2006.

Photographs are arranged alphabetically by tribe. When possible, the original language version of an individual's name has been listed in parentheses. Quotations indicate a transcribed title.

Additional Native American photographs, not included in this inventory, can be found in the cartes-de-visite (Box # 5) and stereograph collections (Boxes # 317 & 318.)
