Glorious News.  Boston, Friday 11 o’clock, 16 May 1766.

This broadside, published by all four of Boston’s newspapers, announces repeal of the Stamp Act and notes that “there was a meeting of the principle merchants concerned in the American trade, at the Kings Arm tavern in Cornhill, to consider of an address of his majesty of the beneficial repeal of the late stamp act.”  From the tavern the men then caught the express coach to New York spreading the good news.
