The Story:
The first entry in this manuscript record of donations is for Isaiah Thomas’s 1812 gift of his personal library. Following this are entries which form a fascinating picture of the early growth of the Society’s collections, revealing their eclectic nature. Alongside books and manuscripts, one finds a diverse array of objects, including coins, Native American artifacts, and geological specimens. Included here is page 29 which features Hannah Mather Crocker's donations.
