Portrait of an older African American man at the Tuskegee Negro Conference. He wears a knee-length wool coat, a plaid blanket around his shoulders, a kerchief around his neck and a cloth hat. Carts and horses are seen behind him. The People's Conference, or Tuskegee Negro Conference, now known as the Farmer's Conference has been held annualy since 1892.
