The American Antiquarian Society offers three broad categories of visiting research fellowships, with tenures ranging from one to twelve months. All of the fellowships are designed to enable academic and independent scholars and advanced graduate students to spend an uninterrupted block of time doing research in the AAS library. Discussing this work with staff and other readers is a hallmark of an AAS fellowship.
Digital Humanities Curator
The American Antiquarian Society is pleased to be able to host a two-year postdoctoral fellowship opportunity for a recent Ph.D. in the humanities or social sciences to serve as Digital Humanities Curator. This fellowship is sponsored by the third competition of the Public Fellows Program offered by the American Council of Learned Societies. The program will place 20 recent Ph.D.s from the humanities and humanistic social sciences in two-year staff positions at partnering organizations in government and the nonprofit sector. Fellows will participate in the substantive work of these organizations and receive professional mentoring. Compensation will be competitive and will include health benefits for the fellow.
