collection extensively as a 1991-1992 Peterson fellow.
For this study, Sheriff was awarded the 1996 New York State Historical
Association
prize for the best
manuscript on New York state history and the 1996 Award for Excellence in
Research
using the holdings of the New York State Architecture. It was published in
