The following announcement of the 2011 annual meeting of the American Antiquarian Society appears on this website as an added convenience to members, who also receive a printed invitation in the mail.

Call to the Meeting

The one hundred ninety-ninth Annual Meeting of the American Antiquarian Society will be held in Antiquarian Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Friday afternoon, the twenty-first of October, at five o'clock

to hear the report of the Council,
to elect officers and Councilors,
to elect new members, and
to transact such other business as may properly come before the meeting.

Related activities for members and guests will take place Thursday and Friday, according to the appended schedule.

Thursday, October 20

5:30-7:15 p.m.	Cocktail supper Goddard-Daniels House
7:30 p.m.	Eighth Annual Robert C. Baron Lecture "The Unredeemed Captive: Her Journey, and My Own" By John P. Demos Antiquarian Hall

Friday, October 21

9 a.m.-1:00 p.m.	Library will be open to members and fellows
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.	Orientation for new members Antiquarian Hall Any member attending an AAS annual meeting for the first time, whether newly elected or not, is encouraged to attend this informative session outlining the collections and activities of the Society.
1-2:15 p.m.	Luncheon for members and fellows Goddard-Daniels House
2:30-4:00 p.m.	Overview of the Center for Historic American Visual Culture (CHAViC) by Georgia Barnhill, CHAViC Director and Lauren Hewes, Andrew W. Mellon Curator of Graphic Arts Antiquarian Hall
4:00-5:00 p.m.	AAS curators will describe the Calvin P. Otto collection which was donated to the Society this year by his widow, Patricia Otto
5:00-5:45 p.m.	Annual business meeting Antiquarian Hall
6:00-8:00 p.m.	Cocktail Reception Higgins House, Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Registration for the annual meeting must be received no later than than Friday, October 14, 2011. The Society regrets that it cannot give refunds for cancellations made after that date.
