Grandpa, Tell us Again about Sailing Away

This hand-colored lithograph of an elderly sailor seated on a dock, was printed in Germany and was intended for the European and American markets.  One of a series of four prints depicting the action-packed life of a sailor, the print was co-published in New York by Emile Seitz, who produced a wide variety of imagery, including views of New York in the winter, images of foreign ports, and sentimental subjects like this print.
