Photographically-Illustrated Genealogy
Osborne, Arthur Dimon. Brief memorials of ancestry and kindred. [New Haven?], 1889.
The author's own copy, with manuscript corrections and insertions, of a privately printed genealogy of the Osborne, Dimon, Blake, and related families of Fairfield, Conn. What sets this work apart from others of its kind are the five original albumen prints inserted as plates.
The photos
depict family homesteads as they appeared in 1889. No other copy of this
work has been traced, though AAS owns another privately printed
genealogical work of Osborne's from 1893, also illustrated with original
photographs.

"One day I am visited by a collector of ordination sermons; the next, by
a collector of 4th of July orations; then comes a collector of geography;
another wants religious newspapers; another wants every book printed in
New York before 1700. I accommodate myself to all; for I want every thing
and collect every thing, and I have more zeal than the whole of them: and
in this way I am kept very busy."
