Mother Goose's Melody - This children’s book was part of a lot discovered by Benjamin Tighe, before he had fully committed to his book scouting career. In Oakham, Massachusetts, Tighe discovered a mint collection of books printed for children, including titles issued by Isaiah Thomas, and shared the information with Brigham. Tighe informed Brigham, who managed to purchase the books in two lots in 1927 and 1928, and cover the Society’s outlay by selling a duplicate copy of Mother Goose’s Melody to A. S. W. Rosenbach, who was asked not to sell it during his lifetime. Mother Goose’s Melody, or Sonnets for the Cradle, 2d Worcester ed. (Worcester: Printed by Isaiah Thomas and sold at his bookstore, 1794), frontispiece and title page [catalog record].
