Subject: Scene from William Shakespeare’s A midsummer night’s dream. Bottom, with the head of a jackass, is seen sitting barefoot on the ground. Titania sits beside him and leans against his chest and holds a flower in her proper left hand. A small nude elf stands in front of Bottom and looks up to him and two small angels or fairies are seen riding rabbits at left. "See explanation page 296."
