The Greys Quick Step was composed by B. A. Burditt for a performance given by the Boston Brigade Band at the Greys’ encampment in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on July 31, 1839.  The cover sheet illustration, drawn by W. Lydston, Jr., shows the Greys on the march during their tour of camp duty, wending their way through the New England landscape.
