Titan Leeds. The American Almanack for the Year of Christian Account, 1740 ….Second edition. Philadelphia: Andrew Bradford, 1739. [catalog record]
Acquired before 1861; Source unknown.
This well-used Pennsylvania almanac is an example of a publication carefully listed by Haven on his slips. He typically listed all almanacs for the same year on a single slip. Titan Leeds began printing almanacs in 1714, and in the 1730s competed with Benjamin Franklin’s, Poor Richard’s Almanack, for readers.
