Sarah Goodridge. Christopher Columbus Baldwin. Watercolor on ivory, 1835. [catalog record]
Gift of Adelaide R. Sawyer, 1907.
This miniature, commissioned by Baldwin’s father, was taken shortly before his departure for Ohio in 1835. Baldwin sat for painter Sarah Goodridge, who worked in Boston and in Worcester County.
