Heinrich Hoffman’s Slovenly Peter (also called Struwwelpeter or Struwel-Peter) stories were translated from the German for the American market around 1850. McLoughlin Brothers issued multiple versions of Hoffman’s tales, as well as new stories told in a similar style -- this volume combines both traditional stories and newer texts.

Adopted by Steve Beare in memory of Sue Allen
