Accordion-bound without text, this sturdy picture book unfolds to show six different scenes. The detailed illustrations would appeal to children of all ages, and the mounted pages (like today’s board books) were designed to be handled by the youngest children. Wholesaling at $1.25 each, the volume was described in McLoughlin’s 1895 catalog as extending to thirteen feet with “pictures…of peculiar interest to little people being of a circus procession, an elephant ride, a picnic party, a coach ride, a farm yard, and an Indian camp.” By 1899, the price had risen to $1.50 wholesale.

Adopted by Paul J. Erickson in honor of Charlie Erickson
