Each page of this volume contains a silly verse or limerick intended to amuse children. A few old chestnuts are included, like Peter the Pumpkin Eater and his wife. However, the majority of the poems are less familiar, including one about a sailor with a tiny boat who chants, “I’ve come from a land from over the seas / Where oysters grow on apple trees.”
