With offices in New York and Philadelphia, Boston and Baltimore, Turner & Fisher published numerous cheap picture books and valentines, competing directly with McLoughlin Brothers.  This copy of the children’s nursery rhyme Cock Robin has a bloodless cover design showing the fallen Cock and his murderer.  Tame covers like this struggled to compete with McLoughlin’s more brilliantly colored cover designs.
