At 2 ½ inches tall, this charming miniature contains an even more miniscule illustration showing an ideal 1820s picture book. This meticulously engraved image shows an open book, complete with tiny hand colored illustrations.  The text observes, “Here is a pretty book,” and warns, “Children should take very good care of books, and not dirty them and tear them and turn down the leaves.”

Adopted by William D. Wallace in honor of Norma Feingold
