Vicious battles between political parties are nothing new. The unidentified publisher of this broadside was angered by a column in the morning paper (supporting the opposing side) and printed this sheet in response. The broadside was posted around town just three days before the election and cautions city residents to be aware of liars and roorbacks, a term first used in 1855 to classify lies (and liars) as politically motivated.
