In third grade when I needed to learn all the state capitals my mom made up little sing-songy stories to help me remember. And her strategy worked: just try to forget the image of St. Paul in heaven sipping a Minnie Soda (St. Paul, Minnesota)! While my mother’s examples are still the best to my mind, her mnemonic devises are similar to those used in this eminently creative geography textbook, designed to be used with Mitchell's School Atlas or Pelton's Outlines.
