Arkansas Banner (Little Rock, Arkansas) Feb. 4, 1846.
All of the Arkansas newspapers are scarce in this year’s adoptions. Like most southern newspapers these were vulnerable to the ravages of climate and war. The Arkansas Banner was started by the local Democratic party to oppose the influence of the Arkansas Gazette, a Whig paper.
