The Lady of Zo
The Monthly (manuscript periodical).
AAS has quite an extensive and impressive collection of mini books, but these two mini manuscript amateur newspapers are the first of their kind in our collection. With postage stamps adorning the covers, the papers were bound between small folded envelopes. Within each issue are original stories such as “The Lady of Zo; or The Mystery of Woodville. A Romance of the Year ’31,” and “The Thrilling Tale of the Skating Bully, or, Death Race,” a captivating tale of a duel on ice. Other features include columns about travel, puzzles, and notes to the editors. The papers also feature incredible illustrations, small and detailed. These two small papers are a unique addition to our Manuscript Amateur Newspaper and Periodical Collection.
