Copies such as this one,  that remain stitched and untrimmed as issued, can reveal a previously unknown publication history. Sermons by the theologian Jonathan Edwards (1703–1758) were reprinted throughout the eighteenth century. In 1790 Shepard Kollock printed an edition of Edwards' Faithful Narrative. The next year he reissued the 1790 sheets and added Edwards' True Grace at the end (which had first been preached in Newark, New Jersey in 1752), with its own signing and pagination. Nearly all copies of True Grace found today have been disbound from the Faithful Narrative, and the assumption was that all copies were so issued.

Adopted by Steve and Valerie Loring in honor of Reverend Doctor Thomas R. McKibbens Minister of First Baptist Church of Worcester 2003 - 2014
