The Sterling (Mass) Collection documents the history of the Massachusetts town with records such as the incorporation of the town in 1781, early land surveys and deeds, wills, arrest warrants, highway and turnpike documents, and the accounts for the Sterling Society for Detecting Thieves.  This recently acquired handwritten pamphlet is the newest addition to the Sterling (Mass) Collection.  The small booklet, “A List of Scholars Names in the 10th Ward Sterling Dec. 30th 1811,” lists 65 names in alphabetical order.  The names are broken into two columns, separating the scholars into males and females.  This document not only enriches the Sterling Collection, but is also an important piece for genealogical research.
