This letter is a welcome addition to our large collection of records of the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The letter, dated April 19, 1859, documents an important moment in the history of the church, when the members of the church community extended an invitation to Reverend William Anderson McGinley to “settle with us in the work of the gospel ministry.” With an offer of $1000 yearly salary, McGinley accepted the offer and became the eighth minister to lead the church.

Adopted by Peg Lesinski in honor of Skip & Nancy Colby
